Course Details

Introduction To Metrology

In this course, you will be provided with a brief introduction to metrology, history of measurement, units of of measurement and basic conversion of measurements. Then, you will be introduced to three common tools used to obtain linear measurement (scale, vernier caliper, micrometer) and basic understanding of their parts and provided step-by-step guidance on how to accurately read measurements with them. Next, you will be introduced to temperature and pressure instruments used to measure and control process variables in production and manufacturing facilities. Instruments to measure force, torque and flow will be discussed next for similar work environment. Finally, you will be provided with the fundamental operating principles of various instruments used to measure properties of electrical signals.
